Humanity is facing some significant challenges: racial injustice, climate crisis, mental and chemical health challenges, gun violence and more. The list is long and the challenges are mighty - but there is hope in our collective action. So many of us get stuck in a state of overwhelm - called into deeper, more attentive living but unsure where to start. Carving out time and space to look inward is an important, but often overlooked, step toward collective healing.
This program is preparation for a transformative life. It will help you answer questions like:
If you are thinking, "That's great Lindsay, but I'm just trying to keep up with laundry...."
I TOTALLY HEAR YOU! Adulting is hard and there are so many competing demands on our time and resources. That's why I created this program! Sometimes - maybe even a lot of the time - we find ourselves on autopilot. Discerning the why behind our actions, the motivation and goals, can free up our choices and create even more opportunities to have a meaningful impact, while still having time for the laundry!
This program is preparation for a transformative life. It will help you answer questions like:
- What guides my decision-making and actions?
- How can the challenges I've faced (and the healing I've done) serve the collective?
- How can I stay honest and accountable to my values?
- What is my relationship with the collective "we"?
- What would courageous action look like in my personal and professional life?

Who is Transformative Living for?
This program was created for women and non-binary folks who feel motivated to support one or more social movements but aren't sure where to start. You may be new to your understanding of the problem, or perhaps have gotten stuck in the learning stage and are looking for support to discern what action looks like in your life. During our year together, you will be guided into deeper personal reflection so that you can confidently step into authentic action that not only feels aligned with your values, but also builds your capacity to sustain and support change for the long-haul.
This program is designed to expand your awareness and grow your capacity to do hard things, and sometimes it will challenge you into uncomfortable places. Though you will be surrounded by an ethic of care and compassion throughout the year, it is not a replacement for therapeutic support.

Timeline and Fees:
Transformative Living will run it's pilot season from August 2021 - July 2022! Since this first cohort will be simultaneously participating in the content and helping me test and refine it, I'm offering a 50% discount to pilot participants. Along with this discount, I'm requesting a couple extra pieces of support from you:
**Registration will be open from June 21 to July 16, 2021.**
- Complete a monthly feedback survey to provide additional insight about the content and any logistical updates I can make to improve the experience for future participants.
- Provide a testimonial that can be used to promote the experience in the future.
- Refer five friends to the next iteration of this program, using the invitation template I will provide.
**Registration will be open from June 21 to July 16, 2021.**
The program is priced using a sliding scale fee structure which you can see below. Our experience of class privilege is often informed by the context within which we live. For some, a middle class experience can be dwarfed by the wealth of family or friends in a way that leads them to feel "poor," while that same person if visiting a shelter for unhoused neighbors may feel "rich."
I encourage you to take an honest look at your financial capacity and select the price point that feels most aligned with your current situation. You can use The Green Bottle image, created by Alexis J. Cunningfolk, as a guide in your decision-making. |

More About Your Host
I have spent my life learning how to hold the hard and the happy and am committed to transforming our collective understanding of the everyday impact of stress and trauma - and promoting the power of resilience. Over the years, my professional practice and lived experience have merged to focus on human development, emotional healing, and community building.
As a professional youth worker, I spent the first half of my career listening deeply to the needs of young people, their families and others in their world to engage in personal transformation and advocate for systems change. In 2013, I combined my passion for youth leadership development and creative self-expression to launch the nonprofit, Courageous heARTS, a youth-driven art studio in Minneapolis which operated successfully for eight years.
Since 2007, I have integrated my lived experience of PTSD, resulting from the collapse of the I-35W bridge in Minneapolis, with my professional training and expertise to guide individuals and communities toward deeper well-being through my person-centered approach to resilience. I share my story of survival and resilience in hopes that others will find the strength and courage to heal from their own hards.
I hold a master of education from the University of Minnesota, where I was named a Rising Alumni in 2014. My work has also been recognized with awards from the Arts and Healing Network and Thrivent Financial. In 2012, I participated in the NorthStar Youth Worker Fellowship and wrote an article titled: "Toward a Youth-Centered Approach: Creating a (New) Standard Operating Procedure through Shared Values." In 2017, I served as a guest editor for the Journal of Youth Development.
My Circle Practice
I have learned to keep Circle from the wisdom lineage of Indigenous people of the Yukon territory in Canada, passed to me from teachers that include Nancy Riestenberg, Oscar Reed, Jamie Williams, Kay Pranis, Linda Lucero, James Radde, Mark LaPointe, Kay Longtin, Restore Circles and many others with whom I've had the pleasure to be with in Circle. As a white woman, I sit with the tension of using this Indigenous practice and actively seek to stay in right relationship with the ways it was meant to be. This essay from Restore Circles, speaks both to my responsibility and my love for this process.
